Where to Go

Broad Beach Cove

Broad Cove beach which is located across the street from the house is beautiful but rocky; The kids are fine running around but we will leave water shoes if you want to explore there. You can bring dogs there, please pick up after them! If you want to swim it is best to swim at high tide there.

The entry to the beach is between 8 & 10 Salt Spray Lane. You will feel like you are walking in someone’s yard, but you’re not 😊. The marker is an electric transformer box at the entry and a split log fence to your right. There are painted rocks at the entry, as well as a small statue of a Buddha.

Additional Places to Go

Kettle Cove Beach 1 mile from house) is within easy biking distance from the house. This is a smaller sand beach that also has a network of hiking trails, as well as a large green area and boat launch. It is a great spot for paddle boarding and swimming as well. Kettle Cove can be a little tricky to park at, but sometimes we do a drop off and just bike back if it’s really busy. Pets are allowed on the trails, but not on the beach during the season. We often go for an evening bicycle ride and stop for an ice cream at Kettle Cove Cafe. Beach Information | Trail & Beach Information | Kettle Cove Cafe

Two Lights State Park (2 miles from house) offers an awe-inspiring hiking trail. Bring your hiking/ water shoes, snacks and water. There is a famous lobster shack here, but there are not many parking spots and you will need a back-up if you have hangry kids with you. They do have clean bathrooms. The entry to this park is easily accessed by bicycle from the house as well. Keep in mind the entry to the state park can be missed; you will need to make a right onto Tower Road from Two Lights Road at the park entry which is marked by a brown state parks sign. If you miss the turn and continue to the end of Two Lights Road, you will see the Lobster Shack and the smaller parking lot. There is also a nice view from here, but if you are looking to go on a hike, park in the first lot. More Information
