Kitchen

The kitchen is stocked with the standard appliances. The ice maker in the freezer is not connected, but the freezer in the garage is stocked with bags of ice so grab them as needed. There is a Vitamix blender, slow cooker/ Insta-pot, waffle maker, baking supplies, sous vide, many seafood accruements, however my cooking knives are not great. They do the job, but If you are a cook you may prefer to bring your own. There is a water cooler in the kitchen as well; the water out of the faucet is absolutely fine to drink, the water cooler is just there as a convenience to fill up water bottles with cold water. Out the back door is the gas grill, which has a hard-line connection so does not need a propane tank. We also have a deep fryer and lobster pot, both of which do need a propane tank. We will leave some there, but they may need to be replaced if the previous guests did not replace them after use. If you need any help get any of these items turned on and working, please do not hesitate to call! We are happy to help.

Hot Tub

Occasionally the breaker trips and needs to be reset; the main breaker panel is located in the garage (front wall, to the left). Please remember to close the lid of the hot tub when finished, and do not bring any glassware into or around the hot tub for safety.

The playroom upstairs is stocked with toys, games, puzzles, art supplies, which guests are welcome to use. There is also a Pack n’ Play available for guest use in the Master Bedroom walk-in-closet, as well as an umbrella stroller in the garage. Linens for the upstairs bedrooms are in the Master Bedroom walk-in-closet, and linens for the two downstairs bedrooms are in those closets. Linens for the pull out sofa bed in the basement are on the shelf where the hot tub towels are located.

Basement Music Room

There is a pull-out sofa in the music room, as well as a TV, dart board, drum kit, guitars, and keyboard. Guests are welcome to use the musical instruments, but please do be careful with them! Towels for the HOT TUB are on the shelf to the left of the door, as well as robes. The heat in the music room is radiant in the floor, the thermostat is by the door from the hallway.

Mudroom / Laundry Room

The mudroom has mud boots which guests are free to use as well as water shoes. Depending on what beach you go to, especially for young kids, the rocky Maine coast can be tough on little feet! Feel free to use the water shoes if they fit! Also, if you hit the Cape Elizabeth greenbelt trails in spring or after a rain, mud boots are a must!

Basketballs, baseballs, beach toys, are located on the shelves in the garage in addition to beach bags/ chairs/ umbrellas, coolers, etc. Guests are welcome to use any of these items, please remember to bring back from beach/ parks! There is also a wagon that is handy to bring items back and forth from the beach, especially from Broad Cove Beach (across the street). We often have picnic lunches there in nice weather.

Pets

Pets are welcome at Salt Spray and in general in Maine. At the house there is dog food you are welcome to use if your dog likes it as well as leaches and collapsible water bowls for hikes and dog waste pick-up bags in the basement mudroom. Most parks allow dogs on leaches, just check before you head out! Dogs are allowed on Higgins beach before 9am and after 5pm which is worth it especially after 5 to watch the sun set as well as the dog party.
